Description Explore both sides of the marshes, searching for the lost village of Wolverton, while enjoy the varied wildlife. There are rest stops and you can shorten the walk if desired.

Post-Work Paddling Under Ryde Pier with Matt and Cat

Description Low tide reveals some strange and wonderful wildlife under Ryde pier. The sea goes out a long way this evening. We’ll look for sea anemones, sponge gardens, peacock worms and seagrasses. Wear beach shoes and shorts; you will be wading through shallow water and getting wet feet!

Breathtaking Bowcombe is a fairly energetic after work walk aimed at adults.

Description Breathtaking Bowcombe is a fairly energetic after work walk aimed at adults. We’ll puff our way up the Tennyson trail from Carisbrooke, but it will be worth it for the stunning views across the Island. Coming down to the Blacksmiths arms we’ll spend a few minutes looking at Glyn Robert’s sculptured tale on a plaque outside the pub, then make our way down yet further to Reads Farm and Alvington Manor Farm before returning to Carisbrooke.

Brading Myths & Legends

Description Start at the villa’s free carpark, ascend Brading down via Adgestone Vineyard, then descend into Nunwell and walk along the old railway from Bembridge. This can be shortened to at the half way point to come out along the Mall and back to Brading Roman Villa that way.
