Steering CommitteeThe role of the Steering Committee is to act as a catalyst and facilitator in implementing AONB policies. The Committee also manages and allocates resources and steers, develops and supports initiatives to help enhance and conserve the AONB.
The main role of the AONB Steering Group is: To plan and implement AONB management via the medium of the AONB Management Plan and the primary purposes of AONB designation. To bring skills and expertise from their portfolio area to the AONB Steering Committee. Current Steering Committee MembersNatural England and Isle of Wight Council as principal funding partners nominate two representatives each to form the core of the AONB Steering Committee. The Chairman and Portfolioholders are elected from the AONB Advisory Group.
