TT1 The importance of local distinctiveness and character of the AONB is recognised and given due consideration as part of maintenance and improvements to the highway network

Objectives:

  • To work with the local highway authority to seek to ensure that wherever possible the character and local distinctiveness of the AONB is conserved and enhanced through the design and maintenance of the highways network
  • In partnership, help to identify opportunities to provide and promote public transport for rural communities and visitors to the AONB
  • In partnership to identify the impact and management opportunities for traffic within the AONB
  • Promote the use and protection of the public rights of way network as an important means of access to the AONB


 

TT2 Sustainable transport initiatives within the AONB are supported as a way of reducing the impact and volume of traffic on the AONB

Objectives:

  • To work with the local highway authority to seek to ensure that wherever possible the character and local distinctiveness of the AONB is conserved and enhanced through the design and maintenance of the highways network
  • In partnership, help to identify opportunities to provide and promote public transport for rural communities and visitors to the AONB
